Sleepaway Circus is an all-girls overnight summer camp that combines traditional camp fun with circus arts. Campers learn circus style hula hooping, juggling, balloon twisting, tightrope walking, and character creation while enjoying hikes, swimming, crafts, campfires, and team games. They’ll even put on their very own circus showcase on the last night of camp!

Camp runs July 6–11, 2026 at La Foret Retreat and Conference Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Yes! Approximately 30 minutes from Colorado Springs Airport (COS) and one hour from Denver International Airport (DEN)

Camp is open to girls ages 7–14. No prior hoop or circus experience is needed.

We limit enrollment to 40 campers to keep camp small, safe, and personal. The approximate counselor-to-camper ratio is 1:4.

Campers will be staying in large bunkhouse cabins with approximately 12-16 girls from their age group and 3-4 counselors. Bunkhouse cabins all come equipped with full bathrooms.

Tuition covers all lodging, meals, snacks, workshops, crafts, activities, materials, and performances. It also includes a camp T-shirt and keepsake photo frame after camp.

• Standard tuition: $1,500

• Early bird rate: $1,400 (first 10 campers)

• A $500 deposit is required to reserve a space

• Sibling discounts and payment plans are available

Payment plans must be paid in full at least 7 days before camp begins.

Yes. Families may place a $500 deposit at registration and spread the remaining balance through a payment plan. All balances must be paid in full by one week prior to camp.

• The $500 deposit is non-refundable.

• Cancellations before January 30, 2026 receive a refund for any amount paid beyond the deposit.

• No refunds are issued after January 30.

• Registrations can be transferred to another camper at no charge.

• In the unlikely event the camp must cancel a session, families will receive a full refund including the deposit.

If at least 8 campers from the Houston area register, a chaperoned group flight will be arranged from Houston to Denver.

• Camp staff accompany campers through airport check-in, the flight, and transportation to La Foret.

• Families pay the student airfare plus a fee for supervision and transport fee to and from airports in Colorado. (totalling 1.5–2x ticket cost)

• Parents are responsible for drop-off and pick-up at the Houston airport.

Drop off is Monday July 6, 2026 from 12pm - 3pm and pick up is Saturday July 11, 2026 from 10:30am - 12:00pm.

We accommodate most dietary needs, including vegetarian, gluten-free, and food allergies. Please list all restrictions and allergies during registration. Meals are prepared family-style with attention to nutrition, balance, and safety.

• Morning: Breakfast, cabin clean-up, circus arts workshops

• Midday: Lunch, rest period, reading family letters and hiking

• Afternoon: Team games, crafts, and more circus practice

• Evening: Dinner, campfire, group games, glow parties, karaoke outdoor movie

• Night: Cabin time, lights out, and quiet rest

No. Camp is primarily a screen-free experience. Campers disconnect from phones and devices to focus on friendship, creativity, and nature.

Families may send emails that will be printed and delivered after rest periods. Campers have one letter-writing session to send mail home early on during camp. Parents will receive daily emails with photo updates and can always contact us/their campers for urgent matters.

Yes. Families will receive daily camp updates and photos via email so you can follow along with your camper’s adventure.

We have a 24-hour infirmary on site with a nurse on staff. Camp staff are certified in First Aid and CPR and may administer basic care or medication for mild/non-emergency situations. If additional medical attention is required, campers will be taken off-site for treatment, and parents will be contacted immediately.

Our full packing list will be emailed closer to camp, but essentials include:

• Comfortable clothes and sneakers

• PJ’s and throw blanket

• Bedding or sleeping bag and pillow

• Toiletries and towel

No. All programming takes place within La Foret’s camp property, which includes hiking trails, open fields, ropes course, labyrinth, infirmary, dining hall, large indoor workshop spaces and bunkhouse cabins.

Sleepaway Circus is led by the owners of Mad About Hoops and the incredible Mad About Hoops team. All staff pass multi-level state and national background screenings, CPR/First Aid certified, and experienced in youth programming. Mad About Hoops teachers are professional hula hoop performers with years of teaching experience.

Campers are expected to act respectfully toward others, follow instructions, and participate safely. Disrespectful, disruptive or unsafe behavior may result in dismissal from camp without refund.

Photos and videos taken during camp are shared with families and may be used for future promotional materials. Families may opt out by noting this on the registration form.

Activities may be adjusted or moved indoors. Safety always comes first, and staff are trained to follow emergency weather procedures.
